Well, parks and random close-ups of food are all well and fine, but I am here to carry out research, after all:
Here is the fine and venerable institution I now belong to, for better or worse. They like to boast that they’re a school with 3 Nobel Prizes: Victor Grignard (1912, Chemistry); Yves Chauvin (2005, Chemistry); Jean Dercourt (2007, Peace).
An exterior shot of the labs. I spend most of my time in the middle lab on the top floor. (You can tell by the orange propane tanks we keep outside for glassblowing.)
With those doors leading to nowhere, you could totally play inter-lab Tic-Tac-Toe.
OR LIKE HOLLYWOOD SQUARES! (The name totally escaped me a minute ago. I thought it was something like Celebrity Squares or Square Celebrities. That’s right, a show called “Square Celebrities” where nerd is the word!)
…. why did I not think of this before?!
That’s because I’m a teacher 😛
And I have a knack for using work things for non-work-related things. Case in point: at Xerox on the last day, I used an old styrofoam shipping container and a friend used a dry ice cooler to create our own rendition of “Stomp.”
